Telebus is Winnipeg Transit's automated schedule information system and is accessed by calling 287-RIDE (7433). Simply call using a TouchTone phone and the user friendly menu will help you find current or future schedule times.
If you do not have a TouchTone phone, schedule information is available by calling Transit Information at 986-5700, or visit our website's schedules page.
Every bus stop in Winnipeg has been assigned a five-digit bus stop number. This number is the way Telebus identifies your specific bus stop. The menuing system will ask you to enter that number plus the pound key # when you call for schedule information, so remember to keep your stop number handy when you call.
All bus stop numbers are listed in the MTS Yellow pages "Transit Guide and Telebus Directory." Numbers are listed by the street they appear on, and the streets are listed alphabetically in the directory. As an example, let's assume you are near Portage Place and you want to take the 24 Ness Express going west towards St. James.
Locate the listing for Portage Ave. and make sure you select the right direction of travel - Westbound.
Determine your location by finding the nearest street address on Portage or the nearest cross street and note the stop number.
Call Telebus at 287-7433 and follow the menuing system using your stop number.
Winnipeg Transit identifies routes with a Route Number, Route Name, and route destination. The Route Name is usually the major street travelled on and the Route Destination generally identifies the final destination area or point the vehicle is travelling to.
Bus Stop Sign information includes the nearest cross street or landmark, bus stop number, telebus phone number, and route numbers for the stop location.
